The Football Supporters' Federation (FSF) today launch the The case for Safe Standing - A 21st Century Solution report via three simultaneous press launches in London, Cardiff and Manchester. A recent survey saw 92% of 100,000 supporters who responded to a survey call for supporters to be given a choice of whether they stand at sit at matches. All seater stadiums were introduced following the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster and subsequent Taylor Report. Such was the influence that clubs in the top two divisions were forced to go all seater and clubs wanting to build new stadiums could only get grants if they built grounds with no terracing. Millions of spectators do stand in perfect safety at other football matches including many away games that City Supporters have attended. For those FSF members and affiliates who wish to obtain their complimentary copy they can do so by sending a A4 stamped addressed envelope with either an 83p stamp (second class) or 98p stamp (first class) to: FSF Safe Standing Report A PDF if also available to download at: |
