Your City needs you…. As of today (Thursday), in conjunction with the Coventry Times, the Sky Blue Trust will be accepting any donations supporters wish to give. Having listened to supporters on the radio, on message boards, and in newspapers, the Sky Blue Trust is giving supporters the chance to donate any amount of money they wish to help Coventry City Football Club.
Any money raised will go to pay a specific invoice for the Academy, and will not just be given over to the Football Club. There will be collection points at the Ricoh Arena and West Orchard Club shops as well as at the Coventry Times front offices in the Telegraph Building Corporation Street and they need to ask for the Coventry Times. Lionel Bird, Deputy Chair of the Sky Blue Trust “All the fans that wish to donate to the club and have the means to do so please come forward, as the Football Club needs as much money as possible.” The Sky Blue Trust are working in partnership with the Coventry Times in this appeal and Les Reid, Coventry City supporter and Chief Reporter said “There's been tears of joy along with frustrations, from last month's fantastic win at Manchester United, to the historic 1987 FA Cup triumph and the glorious promotion to the top flight in the 1960s under Jimmy Hill's revolution. In that time, Coventry City Football Club has also been at the heart of the community - and has put a lot into the city, boosting the local economy. That includes at the grassroots level where its Academy scheme has provided coaching for children of all ages. NOW IT'S TIME TO PUT SOMETHING BACK!” The appeal is being run with the backing of Coventry City Football Club who are “delighted to be working with the Sky Blue Trust once again. We had a successful time when we worked with them on the Save Our Academy Appeal. We have faith in the Sky Blue Trust and the supporters of Coventry City Football Club to help us once again at this time”.
