FSA Championship Network Updates - Jan 2022
The Sky Blue Trust continues to work with the Football Supporters Association on issues of national relevance. A summary of recent work is below.

Fan-led review of football governance
The Fan-led Review of Football Governance, chaired by Tracey Crouch MP, was published at the end of 2021. Supporters’ groups from around 130 different clubs took part, including the Sky Blue Trust.
We believe the report offers an unprecedented opportunity to overhaul the power structures of the domestic game – giving fans a voice at the heart of football.
The FSA have provided a summary of the Review here.
In the report, the recent history of Coventry City FC is highlighted as a clear example of poor business decisions and lack of engagement with fans. With our club having only recently returned to the city, we know first-hand the impact of these decisions and support many of the recommendations captured in the final report.
The Trust is now working with our local MPs to ensure their support in delivering the recommendations in upcoming legislation. You can also write or email your local MP to express your support for reform. In our experience, if enough constituents do this, most MPs feel obliged to take an active interest in proceedings.

Afghan Women's Development Teams
You may have read in the press that groups across football have supported the safe arrival of the Afghan Women's Development football team in the UK. The teams have now arrived are in need of multiple layers of support - from basic essentials to more specialised support.
The Sky Blue Trust has made a donation to the Journey to Freedom Fund in support of the team and the Afghan Community in Coventry.
We have also committed to sharing what the players and their families need across its membership. There are two pressing things as it stands:
Warm clothing and shoes
Funds to assist with living expenses - including food and medical needs
If you are able to support, please find details of the appeal below:
